Her Spell That Binds Me

Luna Oblonsky

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

TLDR: A captivating sapphic witch story with well-developed characters and world-building. The characters were fleshed out very well, the world was gorgeous and the story was amazing. A couple things dragged on a little but I didn’t mind at all because of how engaged I was and how much I was enjoying reading this book. Sapphic witches for the win 😍

I REALLY enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sapphic fantasy romance.

I love the characters in this book. They are all well thought out and all have so much depth to them. Ariadne especially had an amazing redemption and interesting backstory. I also really liked the world and world-building as well, I particularly loved the forest aspect. There were enough details that you could imagine what everything looked like without being bombarded with information. I felt myself wishing i could be in the world it was that lovely.

The romance in this book is more of a “bully” to lovers (which I would normally dislike) rather than enemies to lovers, but I was surprisingly happy with how it was written. The “bullying” is not just bullying for the sake of it, it is more of an attempt to sabotage another for personal gain. I really liked the pacing of the romance, it did not feel rushed nor did it feel pushed out for too long. The growth that the characters go through is really satisfying to read and I loved their chemistry.

I only had a minor issue with this book. it did seem to drag on at certain points, i.e. the professor’s lectures and towards the end of the leading up to the trials, BUT I honestly did not mind it because I was so absorbed in the book.

I know the author is planning on a trilogy, but this book can definitely be read as a stand-alone for anyone who prefers them. I cannot wait for the second book, I’ll be checking patreon every month to follow the progress!
